705. Helen’s Babies (1924)

*The Warlock opens the door to his lair. He’s wearing a black leather jacket, nWo t-shirt, blue jeans, white sneakers and gargoyle shades. He’s holding a Mega Pint of Pepsi*

W: Welcome to my lair…welcome I don’t think so, but enter. Enter my lair if you dare. I’m your host The Warlock.

*Warlock levitates before walking inside*

W: Welcome back to Clara Bow Tribute Week here at Warlock’s Movie Realm. Tonight will be a special movie as we will be taking a look at Baby Peggy. Who’s that you ask? Baby Peggy was one of the very first child actors, making her name in the late teens and early 20’s before, as usual, her parents blew through her Hollywood money forcing her to take menial jobs as an adult. But, before that happened, she was in a 1924 drama HELEN’S BABIES along with Clara Bow.

*Warlock takes his seat in the middle of the couch*

W: So what’s the movie about? Some guy who hates kids is thrust into the daddy role as he’s put in charge of his young nieces, one of which is Baby Peggy. Clara was 19 years old at the time and Peggy was about 5. The funny thing was Baby Peggy ended up living to be 102 years old before just passing away in 2020. Now will the movie be good? It clocks in at 85 minutes so it better be good. Let’s see if Clara Bow and Baby Peggy can make this a fun time. So grab your popcorn, grab your drink and grab your woman because its time for HELEN’S BABIES.

*Warlock reads the tag-line*

W: “A young man who has vowed never to marry and doesn’t particularly like children is left in charge of his two very young nieces. At first they drive him to distraction, but then he begins to warm to them, and also to a beautiful young local girl.”

W: Of course he’s after a young local girl.
