656. Xanadu (1980)

*The Warlock opens the door to his lair. He’s wearing a Warriors vest, black wifebeater, blue jeans, white sneakers and gargoyle shades. He’s holding a Mega Pint of Dr. Pepper*

W: Welcome to my lair…welcome I don’t think so, but enter. Enter my lair if you dare. I’m your host The Warlock.

*Warlock shoots fire into the sky before walking inside*

W: Today is a sad day here at the Realm as actress Olivia Newton-John has passed away at the age of 72. In honor of her I will be taking a look at one of her famous movie roles that I’ve wanted to see for a long time but for an entirely different reason.

*Neyzor Blades is in the recliner wearing standard attire*

N: Grease?

W: No, we already did that 5 years ago for Michael Biehn Appreciation Month. I’m talking about the 1980 musical XANADU!

N: What is that?

W: That’s what I’m going to find out. The reason I’ve always wanted to see this is the actor Michael Beck made it big in 1979 for his role in the movie The Warriors, hence my vest. The problem was in 1980 he was in XANADU and his career never recovered. On top of that, an old Gene Kelly is in this too. So how bad is this movie that it killed Michael Beck’s career so shortly after it started really? That’s what we’re about to find out.

N: So this is a bad movie?

W: That’s the best part, I don’t know. It could be good, it may not be. All I know is Michael Beck never had another hit movie. So grab your popcorn, grab your drink and grab your woman as we honor the late, great Olivia Newton John with XANADU.

*Neyzor Blades reads the tag-line*

N: “A struggling artist living in Los Angeles meets a girl who may hold the key to his happiness.”

W: Pray for me.

655. Lightyear (2022)

*The Warlock opens the door to his lair. He’s wearing a Toy Story t-shirt, blue jeans, white sneakers and gargoyle shades. He’s holding a Mega Pint of Pepsi*

W: Welcome to my lair….welcome I don’t think so, but enter. Enter my lair if you dare. I’m your host The Warlock.

*Warlock shoots a lightning bolt and walks inside*

W: In case you haven’t guessed by my attire, today is the streaming launch date for tonight’s movie. The one and only Disney animated action flick LIGHTYEAR!

*Neyzor Blades is in the recliner wearing standard attire*

N: Didn’t this just come out in theaters?

W: Yup, back in June. Nowadays nobody waits for a home release anymore. Elvis and Top Gun should be coming out soon as well. Anyway, for those that didn’t see it or have been living under a rock, LIGHTYEAR is the origin story of Buzz Lightyear from the Toy Story franchise.

*Warlock takes his seat in the middle of the couch*

W: So what’s the movie about? Buzz and his crew get stranded on a planet in Sector 4. His various attempts to go home take years at a time and after so many attempts, life as he knows it changes. Soon, Emperor Zurg attacks and all hell breaks loose.

N: That’s not what happens.

W: I know, I know….I was half asleep in the theater that night. Before I get into it I want to address the two criticisms that came out after the release of this. First there’s a 10 second montage where it shows two women kissing, its only 10 seconds so just deal with it. The second and more important, they replaced Tim Allen with Chris Evans. If you can handle Captain America as Buzz Lightyear instead of Santa Clause then you have nothing to worry about. Now I remember the movie being good in the theater so will it be good for a second time watch? Let’s find out. So grab your popcorn, grab your drink and grab your woman because its time for LIGHTYEAR.

*Neyz reads the tag-line*

N: “While spending years attempting to return home, marooned Space Ranger Buzz Lightyear encounters an army of ruthless robots commanded by Zurg who are attempting to steal his fuel source.”

W: Do you people still use fossil fuels or have you discovered crystalic fusion?

654. Encanto (2021)

*The Warlock is on a Skype call getting yelled at by El Brujera in Spanish*

E: Tu maricon, tu miraras Encanto!

W: Por que??

E: Por que yo dije!

W: Si mi amore, te amo.

E: Ahora vete de aqui antes de que te de una bofetada!

W: Pendeja…..

E: Que?????

*Warlock ends the Skype call*

W: Bienvenida mi guardia…….sorry. Welcome to my lair for another edition of Warlock’s Movie Realm. Tonight I’m pretty much being forced at gunpoint to watch a Disney movie I normally would be watching with Neyzor Blades….if at all. But since she’s out of town, I gotta watch it alone. Tonight’s movie is the 2021 animated Disney movie ENCANTO. Why am I watching Encanto? Don’t ask. It was the hot Disney movie last year and apparently people quote and sing it daily still. What’s it about? A whole family as magic powers except one and she’s gotta be the one to save the family from disaster. Cheesy Disney movies aren’t my thing and they never were. Remember its been well documented I watched stuff like Terminator and Aliens at the age of 3 so I like something with a kick. Who knows, maybe this will be good. So grab your popcorn, grab your drink and grab your woman because its time for ENCANTO.

653. See No Evil 2 (2014)

*The Warlock opens the door to his lair. He’s wearing the same Kane shirt from yesterday, blue jeans, white sneakers and gargoyle shades. He’s holding a Mega Pint of Dr. Pepper and clutching his neck*

W: Welcome to my lair…welcome I don’t think so, but enter. Enter my lair if you dare. I’m your host The Warlock*

*Warlock gingerly walks inside*

W: Welcome back to Warlock’s Movie Realm for part two of our See No Evil re-watch. After I was rudely interrupted and attacked last time, I’m not feeling too great.

*Mr. America is in the recliner wearing green camo fatigues, vest and hat along with black combat boots and aviator shades smiling ear to ear*

A: That was awesome, not gonna lie.

W: Yeah laugh it up. Anyway we’re continuing our two part look at the See No Evil series with the sequel, SEE NO EVIL 2.

A: There’s a sequel?

W: I asked the same question. Apparently at the height of Kane’s role in The Authority against Daniel Bryan in 2014, he still had time to make a sequel to See No Evil and this time Danielle Harris with him. So what’s the sequel about? Apparently someone’s having a birthday party and Kane crashes the party.

A: I thought he was dead.

W: Me too. I have a bad feeling about this movie because the first See No Evil was a love letter to the slasher genre of the 80’s but this, this really has no purpose. We’ve already seen Hostel and Hatchet by the time this sequel came out. Worst part is it was direct to video so this wasn’t regarded at all to have a cinema release.

A: This is gonna be a heaping pile of shit.

W: You may be right. But who knows, it may be as good as the original or even better.

A: You’re giving it too much credit.

W: But the only way to find out is to watch it, so grab your popcorn, grab your drink and grab your woman because its time for SEE NO EVIL 2.

652. See No Evil (2006)

*The Warlock opens the door to his lair. He’s wearing a Kane t-shirt, blue jeans, white sneakers and gargoyle shades. He’s holding a Mega Pint of Barq’s Root Beer*

W: Welcome to my lair…welcome I don’t think so, but enter. Enter my lair if you dare. I’m your host The Warlock.

*Warlock raises his arms in the air and brings them down sharply to make an explosion before walking inside*

W: Tonight we’re going to have a little fun at Warlock’s Movie Realm. Back in 2006, wrestling czar Vince McMahon lost his mind and thought he could be a Hollywood film producer. He took one look at former WWE champion Kane and thought he’d make a good monster movie heel. On May 19, 2006 Kane made his big screen debut in SEE NO EVIL! I remember the date because they made a whole WWE storyline out of it.

*Mr. America is in the recliner wearing green camo fatigues, vest and hat along with black combat boots and aviator shades*

A: Let’s not go there, that angle was atrocious.

W: Absolutely, but we’re not here to talk about Kane vs Imposter Kane, we’re here…

*America cuts him off*

A: What did I just say??

W: Sorry, sorry. We’re here to catch SEE NO EVIL again. We saw this in theaters back in 06 and again on DVD sometime later and it was okay for what it was. For those that don’t know, a group of teenage juvenile delinquents are forced to serve community service by cleaning up a dilapidated hotel. What they don’t know is lurking the bowels of this hotel is the demented Jacob Goodnight, played by Kane, who’s going to make them pay dearly for trespassing on his real estate. Its been 16 years since this movie came out so let’s see if it held up well. So grab your popcorn, grab your drink and grab your woman because its time for SEE NO EVIL.

*America reads the tag-line*

A: “A group of delinquents are sent to clean the Blackwell Hotel. Little do they know reclusive psychopath Jacob Goodnight has holed away in the rotting hotel. When one of the teens is captured, those who remain – a group that includes the cop who put a bullet in Goodnight’s head four years ago – band together to survive against the brutal killer.”

W: A bullet to the head isn’t gonna stop Kane.

*Warlock rises from the couch*

W: Well that was exactly how I remembered it. it wasn’t great but it wasn’t bad either. Kane definitely had the look to be a monster villain and he pulled it off really well. The cast did the best they could to be as douchebaggy as possible but that was somewhat the point. All in all it wasn’t a great movie but it was definitely worth a look if you’re a horror or wrestling fan. Well that about…

*The doorbell rings*

W: Who the hell could that be?

*Warlock gets up and opens the door only to see Kane in full gear standing in the doorway*

W: That’s….that’s…THAT’S GOTTA BE KANE!

*Kane grabs Warlock by the neck and chokeslams him on the front porch. America laughs at him*

A: Serves you right!

*Kane throws a DVD box on top of Warlock and leaves*

A: He left you a present.

*Warlock looks at the cover and its See No Evil 2*

W: Oh…great….now get outta here before I give ya a slap!
