699. Falling Down (1993)

*The Warlock opens the door to his lair. He’s wearing a black leather jacket, Ice Cream Man Police Department t-shirt, blue jeans, white sneakers and gargoyle shades. He’s holding a Mega Pint of Pepsi*

W: Welcome to my lair…welcome I don’t think so, but enter. Enter my lair if you dare. I’m your host The Warlock.

*Warlock makes the ground rumble before walking inside*

W: Life sucks sometimes, doesn’t it? Especially in this day and age where you have to pick a political side one way or another, or live in insurmountable debt, or deal with the dumbest human beings to ever walk the face of the earth on social media. Well, thirty years ago a movie was made about an ordinary man that got fed up with how stupid the world had become. That movie we’ll be watching tonight is the 1993 psychological thriller FALLING DOWN.

*Warlock takes his seat in the middle of the couch*

W: So what’s this movie about? Michael Douglas is an ordinary joe just trying to make it through life when one sweltering day he gets pushed too far by the society he’s in. Robert Duvall must reel him in before its too late. Critics at the time didn’t know what to make of it but as society got progressively worse in the last thirty years, FALLING DOWN means a hell of a lot more now than it did then. The movie has an hour and 53 minute run time and also features Barbara Hershey from Insidious and Rachel Ticotin from Total Recall. Its got a good cast and a good premise so I have a good feeling about this one. I’m expecting it to be good so let’s see if it is. So grab your popcorn, grab your drink and grab your woman because its time for FALLING DOWN.

*Warlock reads the tag-line*

W: “An ordinary man frustrated with the various flaws he sees in society begins to psychotically and violently lash out against them.”

W: This sounds great.
