659. College (1927)

*The Warlock opens the door to his lair. He’s wearing a black leather jacket, black tshirt, blue jeans and white sneakers. He’s holding a Mega Pint of Barq’s Root Beer*

W: Welcome to my lair….welcome I don’t think so, but enter. Enter my lair if you dare. I’m your host The Warlock.

*Warlock levitates and walks inside*

W: Welcome back to Public Domain Week here at Warlock’s Movie Realm. Last year we took a look at the 1926 Buster Keaton comedy “Battling Butler” which was pretty damn funny. Tonight we will be taking a look at his 1927 comedy COLLEGE. Apparently Buster Keaton’s high school sweetheart thinks he has a bad attitude so he enrolls in college to better himself. Knowing Buster, he’s just going to make a mess. Battling Butler was funny so I have a good feeling this may be funny as well.

*Warlock takes his seat in the middle of the couch*

W: If its not good, the movie is only 66 minutes long so if it sucks, at least it will be short. It should be noted that Keaton’s girlfriend in the movie is played by Anne Cornwall. She was married to Charles Maigne before he died in 1929. Useless information from me, I know. So let’s get to the movie, grab your popcorn, grab your drink and grab your woman because its time for COLLEGE.

*Warlock reads the tag-line*

W: “Ronald’s high-school valedictory address praises books and condemns sports. His girlfriend Mary condemns his attitude. Fearing to lose her to rival Jeff, he decides to go to college and pay more attentions to sports.”

W: He can’t please anyone.
