*The Warlock opens the door to his lair. He’s wearing a Maine Mariners hockey jersey with the name Warlock on the back & the number 13, blue jeans, white sneakers and Gargoyle shades. He’s holding a Mega Pint of Pepsi*
W: Welcome to my lair….welcome I don’t think so, but enter. Enter my lair if you dare. I’m your host The Warlock.
*Warlock shoots fire into the sky and walks inside*
W: Welcome back to Public Domain Week here at Warlock’s Movie Realm. Like I mentioned yesterday, we’ll be taking a look at 7 movies that entered the Public Domain on January 1st. Batting second will be the 1927 drama UPSTREAM!
*Warlock takes his seat in the middle of the couch*
W: What’s this about? Earl Foxe plays a struggling Shakespearean actor makes it big after getting a lot of help and naturally turns his back on his friends that were there for him. Unlike some of the others that we’ll be watching this week, this was not nominated or won any Oscar’s. However the director of the movie is considered one of the best American directors of all time in John Ford. Can John Ford spin his magic to make this a good movie? At only 57 minutes its the shortest one so if it sucks, at least its short. The only way to find out is to watch the movie so grab your popcorn, grab your drink and grab your woman because its time for UPSTREAM.
Written by Wallace Smith and Randall Faye
Directed by John Ford

*Warlock reads the tag-line*
W: “Among the residents of a theatrical boarding-house is the last member of a once-great acting family, down on his luck. When an offer to star in a London “Hamlet” comes, he takes lessons from a faded former star and goes on to huge success–but he forgets his old friends.”
W: Wow what an asshole.
